Abstract
The publication is a brief overview of the XVIII International Scientific Conference “Modern Problems of Book Culture: Main Trends and Development Prospects”, held in Moscow in November 2025 under the auspices of the Scientific Council on Book Culture, Book Publishing and Libraries of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS). During the scientific forum, the following issues were considered and discussed: book culture and modern development of the science of books; current problems of interdisciplinary research; bookishness as a factor in preserving historical memory and shaping public consciousness; encyclopedic and biographical studies in the field of book culture, etc. The key point of most conferences of the Scientific Council is to preserve the memory of prominent figures of books. In this event, the organizers addressed the personality and scientific legacy of the outstanding historian, book scholar and bibliophile Alexander Leonidovich Posadskov (1950–2024). O. V. Andreyeva, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and A.O. Anisimov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, shared their memories of him. These reports were included in the section “In memory of Colleagues…” of the conference proceedings.
